Payment Terms

How paying a group through MyClub works — for members and anyone paying on their behalf.

Version 2026-10-draft-1 · Last updated September 25, 2026

Draft — pending legal review. Not yet in effect. This text is a working draft shared for review and may change before MyClub launches payments.

Who you're paying

When you pay a charge in MyClub (dues, an event, a trip, a shared cost), you're paying the group that requested it. The group — not MyClub — decides what is charged, when it's due and whether refunds are given.

Payments are processed by Stripe through MyClub's platform, and the group's share is sent to the group's own Stripe account and then to its bank.

What it costs

Before you pay, the payment page shows what the group requested, MyClub's transaction fee (if the group asks members to cover it), and the total. You're never charged more than the total shown. See the Fee Disclosure for how the fee is calculated.

Ways to pay

  • Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay — usually confirmed right away.
  • US bank account (ACH) — takes a few business days to complete and can be returned by your bank (for example for insufficient funds). A returned payment shows as failed and the group may ask you to pay again.
  • Offline — some groups also accept cash or checks and record them in MyClub. Those payments are between you and the group.

You can save a card or bank account for next time. We store only the brand, last 4 digits and expiry — the details themselves stay with Stripe. You can remove a saved method any time; any autopay using it turns off.

Paying for someone else

A parent, guardian, partner or employer can be linked as a responsible payer for a member. They get copies of payment emails and can pay with their own saved method. The charge still belongs to the member's membership.

Receipts and history

Every successful payment gets an emailed receipt, and your full history is in your profile. Receipts show the amount applied to the charge, the fee and the total paid.

Refunds and disputes

Refunds are decided by the group (see the Refund Policy Framework). If something looks wrong, contact the group first — most issues are fixed quickly that way. If you dispute a card payment with your bank, the group will be asked to respond, and the payment shows as disputed until it's resolved.

Automatic payments

Autopay only happens if you turn it on and agree to a Recurring Payment Authorization. A group can never charge your saved card by itself.
